Body image worries are often something associated with women. But there is a growing number of men becoming self conscious about their physique too. With magazines, TV and, in fact, all media portraying images of men with beefy torsos, perfectly lean and toned, reminiscent of Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator! It is little wonder then, that men who are naturally either very skinny and bony looking or men who are carrying extra weight are feeling something of an inferiority complex.

Many of these men turn to the internet to find out how to build muscle mass and many end up purchasing steroids or supplements or finding and embarking upon (arguably much safer and healthier) programs like No Nonsense Muscle Building.

Learning how to build muscle mass need not be a long winded and complicated affair. What it really comes down to is commitment to a healthy diet and a moderate training and fitness regime. Asking how to build muscle mass means that you are already interested in learning how to make the changes necessary to achieve the physique and body image you want, thus increasing your confidence and self-esteem.

However, you must be prepared to commit to the program. In terms of a diet, high protein will assist hugely. However you can obtain sufficient protein by a balanced diet alone, without the need for supplements. Consume high protein foods such as milk, beans, fish and cheese. Couple this with regular fitness training and weight training and be very careful not to overdo it. After any work out session, particularly with weights, make sure you give your muscles the time they need to repair and recuperate. Excessive exercise without breaks will do more damage than good.

So the key is commitment, exercise and a balanced diet high in proteins.
